Building science, translated
Andrew is a Registered Energy Advisor and Certified Energy Manager based in St. Albert, Alberta, with nearly a decade in the energy and green-building industry. From micro-inverter research and commercial energy modelling in Ontario to Net Zero and R-2000 advising across Alberta, he's spent his career turning complex building science into decisions homeowners can actually make.
That path has covered both sides of the work: the modelling and analysis that produce a rating, and the quality assurance role that checks whether other people's ratings hold up. Reviewing house and MURB files as a QA specialist is an unusually good teacher — you see every way a file can go wrong, and you stop making those mistakes yourself.
His approach is simple: measure honestly, explain plainly, and make sure every client gets the full value of the grants and rebates available to them. Good building science shouldn't require a translator — and better homes shouldn't be a mystery.
How we work
What independent actually means
Scheelar Energy doesn't sell insulation, windows, furnaces or heat pumps, and doesn't take referral fees from the contractors who do. The only product here is an accurate rating and honest advice about what to do with it.
In practice that means you'll occasionally be told that an upgrade you were excited about isn't worth the money in your particular house, or that the cheap fix nobody mentioned will do more for your comfort than the expensive one. That's the entire point of a third-party evaluation.
Where we work
Serving Edmonton & surrounding communities
Scheelar Energy proudly serves Edmonton, St. Albert, Sherwood Park, Spruce Grove, Stony Plain, Leduc, Fort Saskatchewan and the surrounding region. Have a project further afield? Larger service areas are available by special request — just ask.
